Abstracts: Based on ionocovalency model a quantification definition for “IC-crosslink density” has been proposed：The ionic function I (Ia, Z*) is related to the valency quantity of the energy, required to break or re-form the ionocovalent bonds. The covalent function C(n*rc-1,rc-1) is related to the structural state. The covalency rc-1 is related to the bond strength and the spatial covalency n*rc-1 is related to the spatial overlap. Therefore, ionocovalent function can be defined as ionocovalent crosslink density:
ICd = I (Ia, Z*) C (n*rc-1, rc-1) = Z*rc-1 = n* ( Ia /R)½ rc-1
The IC-model’s satisfactory explanation of the glass experimental results agrees fairly well with the studies by Bih et al. and further reveals its predictive power for designing of materials and its universal applications.
