Historical Background of Ionocovalent Theory*

Beginning of last century, when the flames of war permeate the land of China, the West is a brilliant science spring. Einstein, Bohr, de Broglie, Schrödinger and other scientists established a quantum mechanics and cast foundation of modern civilization. Since then, chemistry, or should say molecular science, got two significant quantum treasures: electronics theory and spectroscopy. However, for a long time some chemists have been keen on the old thermochemical qualitative way  and hesitated to take new approach . The qualitative theory dominates most of the field of chemistry, some areas or no theory.
In 1981 author correlated the Bohr-level quantum energy with spectroscopy and proposed the effective nuclear charge Z* [3, 4]. And further proposed ionicity Iz, effective principal quantum number n*, σ-covalency rc-1, spatial-covalency n*rc-1 and IC electronegativities to correlate a quantitative dual nature, ionocovalency, and establish a relationship model between ionocovalency and the quantum mechanical potentials .
The ionocovalency have been quantitatively used in varies areas of chemistry since 1981[3-6,14-38]. It has been proved that ionocovalency could quantitatively describe possibly all chemical observations because the IC-model related to the electronic configurations from 1s to nf [6-9].
In the present works, a macroscopic universe mechanism is proposed. The IC-model of multiple-functional prediction of that dual properties of Ionocovalency, which is found in hydrogen atom bonding to correlate with the microscopic quantum potential, is correlated with the macroscopic harmony of the universal mechanism wherein the key nature, harmony，plays an energetically ionocovalent optimization and describes fairly well not only the chemical phenomena but also the universal observations in human life, economic and social system. The dual ionocovalency can be correlated with de Broglie Relationship and wave-particle dual nature. All universal existences are in their ionocovalent potentials.
