Kuei et al. proposed [76]: “Carbon dioxide is produced from the water gas shift (WGS) reaction. The activity of WGS reaction is expressed as the pseudo-equilibrium constant Pco2PH2 / PcoPH2o at the outlet of the reactor, which are plotted as functions of reaction time in Figure 2. For water gas shift reaction, it is clearly demonstrated that the activity increases in the sequence of Fe/SiO2<Li-Fe/SiO2 <Na-Fe/SiO2<K-Fe/SiO2<Cs-Fe/SiO2 i.e., it increases    with the basicity of the promoter. Dumesic (1986) have studied the water gas shift reaction for a series of metal oxide and found that the WGS activity increases with the Zhang electronegativity of catalysts [16]. Zhang electronegativity actually is an indication of the basicity. Therefore it is consistent with our results.”
